Here's a movie to share with your bestie: raucous comedy-drama Animals focuses on the lively friendship between two women living in Dublin, and screens in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members on Tuesday 16th July.
Cinderella's Holliday Grainger is aspiring writer Laura who enjoys a hedonistic single lifestyle along with best friend Tyler (Arrested Development's Alia Shawkat). Adult responsibilities don't factor into the lives of these BFFs very much – until Laura enters a relationship with a handsome piano player.
All of a sudden, the fabric of their friendship threatens to unravel as Laura starts to pull in a different direction. Can these two party animals weather the storm as they advance further into their thirties?
The movie is adapted by author Emma Jane Unsworth from her own novel, described by Caitlyn Moran as "Withnail and I for girls". It's directed by Australian film-maker Sophie Hyde and screened in the Premieres category at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where it proved a critical hit, particularly regarding the chemistry of its leading players.
