Your run of Cineworld Unlimited screenings shows no signs of stopping. On 29th October, we've got a special preview of engrossing drama Luce, starring Oscar nominees Naomi Watts (Birdman) and Tim Roth (The Hateful Eight).
The critically acclaimed movie, which currently stands at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, centres on a couple whose relationship with their adopted son starts to fracture. Rising star Kelvin Harrison Jr. (It Comes at Night) stuns as the eponymous Luce, who was rescued from a war zone as a child and taken into the bosom of comfortable, middle-class America, growing up to become an apparently well-adjusted young man.
However, Luce's psychological state comes into question after he pens a disturbing school essay. Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer (The Shape of Water) co-stars as the teacher who comes to suspect her star student is not all he seems – but can she convince the parents?
This thought-provoking character study comes from The Cloverfield Paradox director Julius Onah. Writes Benjamin Lee in The Guardian: "It's a drama that moves like a thriller with a stark, uncomfortable score and a series of seat-edge confrontations both heating up a difficult debate over trust, expectation and racial stereotypes."
