For fans of Yungblud – real name Dominic Harrison – it likely feels even more significant that his documentary ARE YOU READY, BOY? should be released this month. Lifting back the curtain on the creative process of recording his latest chart topping album Idol, Yungblud lost his own idol last month with the sad passing of Black Sabbath lead singer, Ozzy Osbourne.
Recently attending the premiere of his upcoming documentary, directed by the award-winning Paul Dugdale, Yungblud shared with Sky News that he hopes to bring Osbourne’s “spirit and energy” alive in his own career.
Speaking on the documentary itself, he said, “People need to see what it takes to make an album of this ambition,” adding that it’s a “film about imagination”.

YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY? charts the creation of Idols with live performances from the album filmed at the iconic Hansa Studios building in Berlin. Not only does he hope to continue on Osborune’s legacy through his own music, then, Yungblud is also following in the footsteps of the likes of Bowie and U2, who also performed there.
Alongside these performances, the documentary will also feature candid interviews and moments with Yungblud and his band as they create the album, as well as showcasing “Yungblud on film like he’s never been seen before. A personal journey of change, confidence and rock-and-roll chaos, set against a city that has always celebrated counterculture and creativity.”
