Is your true love staring you in the face? That's the dilemma facing documentary maker Zoe (Lily James) in the uplifting and inclusive new rom-com What's Love Got To Do With It? The movie screened in advance for Unlimited audiences on Valentine's Day and, judging from their social media responses, it appears to have swept viewers along on a wave of romantic charm.
Zoe is documenting the arranged marriage of her Pakistani neighbour and childhood friend Kazim (Shazad Latif), but you know what they say – the camera doesn't lie. In observing the cultural traditions of Kazim and his family, Zoe must grapple with some deep-seated feelings, all the while as the respective mothers (Shabana Azmi and scene-stealer Emma Thompson) dispense advice from the sidelines.
We've rounded up a few of the Unlimited reactions that point towards this being the ideal movie for lovestruck couples and singletons everywhere.
It was a good film, near the ending got a little confusing but thankfully the ending became more clear to understand! The story was well written, the whole cast and crew were fantastic! Overall score: 8/10! Grade: B+! Well Done Everyone!!! 😁😁😁

Plenty of comedy, Emma Thompson was brilliant (as always), a great night out on #ValentinesDay. Thank you @cineworld. #WhatsLoveGotToDoWithIt

Really enjoyed it and thought it was well scripted, acted and showed part of a culture I don't have much of an understanding of. Emma Thompson had a ball with her role and lots of laughter plus Lily James and Shazhad Latif were very good. Lovely score by Nitin Sawhney too. 8/10
