What is the story in A Big Bold Beautiful Journey?
Strangers Sarah (Robbie) and David (Farrell) meet at a mutual friend's wedding and are drawn back together when David’s car tells him (yes, you read that right) to pick her up. The two come across a free-standing door and choose to step through it together, falling back into the past and revisiting defining moments from both of their pasts.

In December 2020, the screenplay for A Big Beautiful Journey, written by Seth Reiss, appeared on the annual Black List. What is the Black List we hear you ask? Well, we just learned ourselves that it’s a survey featuring screenplays that are liked but have yet to be picked up, as chosen by studios and production companies.
The movie is scored by Joe Hisaishi
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey will feature a score written by composer Joe Hisaishi. This will be his first score in a Hollywood movie. He is otherwise known for composing the score of Studio Ghibli movies Spirited Away, Ponyo, and more recently The Boy and the Heron.
