The realities of pregnancy and single motherhood are laid bare in the outrageous new comedy Babes. Comedian Ilana Glazer (Rough Night) writes and stars as Eden, a single-minded New Yorker who finds herself at odds with her best friend Dawn (Michelle Buteau). Dawn is recently a mother and following a one-night stand, Eden finds herself newly pregnant. Can they traverse these life crises together?
The movie screened in advance for Unlimited members and we've curated some of their reactions.
It was good fun with a surprisingly dark and foul-mouthed edge. It won't be for everyone but ai'll never think of Apache Indian's "Boom Shack-a-lak" in the same way.

I went without any real expectations, and have to say that was a really enjoyable watch in my book. A good blend of crude humour, friendship, and fun. Definitely glad I made the trip to Wakefield this evening!

A fantastic life/comedy film. Brilliantly 'conceived' (pun intended) written and paced. @superiorbobble1 and I loved it. Will be recommending to friends. pic.twitter.com/XVjxaNM6cE

That's the joy of some of these Unlimited Screenings, taking a risk on some unknown indie films. I went in with no expectations, as I didn't see a trailer, Babes was a surprisingly good film with heart & funny moments.
