Given her headlining roles in such Hollywood flicks as Super 8 and We Bought a Zoo, you’d think 16-year-old Elle (sister of Dakota) Fanning would be immune from such silliness as star worship.
But it appears working opposite the shimmering Angelina Jolie in Disney’s forthcoming Sleeping Beauty reboot Maleficent was a dream come true for the up-and-coming teen actress.
"It was super exciting,” cooed Fanning to US Weekly. “Everything was so fun. Working with Angelina - it's kind of a dream to say that you even met her and let alone to be in scenes with her. [It] was really really cool."
Fanning stars as Princess Aurora in the live-action movie, which retells the fairytale from the perspective of the story’s iconic villainess, Maleficent (played by Jolie, in a classic who-else-but-her bit of casting).
"She really got into her character in a way," Fanning added. "Like she was very, so into the details of her clothes. She came into rehearsals on the first day with her Maleficent staff and she was in normal clothes but then had that. She was like, 'I have to get used to it. It's part of my character.' I thought that was so cool."
Maleficent sweeps into Cineworld on 28th May.
