What is MediCinema?
MediCinema is a charity that brings the joys of the silver screen to those staying in NHS hospitals. The charity creates a cosy and enjoyable cinema experience, helping to build morale while patients are unwell, endeavouring to “improve mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of patients and their loved ones”.
Allowing patients and their families to leave behind the wards for a few blissful hours, MediCinema’s screening rooms cater for hospital beds, wheelchairs, and any other medical equipment a patient might require.
The experience sets out to bring a sense of normalcy for patients, with MediCinema able to bring the latest film releases to patients for free thanks to the support of film studios and distributors.
How does my ticket to Wicked: For Good help MediCinema?
Cineworld is partnered with MediCinema, offering special preview screenings to its customers before a big title is released in order to help raise funds for the charity.
You can also opt to round-up your purchases in-person at Cineworld tills, as well as making donations directly to MediCinema via their website.
When is the Wicked: For Good MediCinema screening?
The special Wicked: For Good MediCinema screening is taking place at Cineworld on Thursday, 20th November, the day before its official worldwide release. All profits will go towards MediCinema and the life-changing work that it does.
