A few weeks ago, we asked: what's in for the girls when it comes to laddish comedy sequel The Inbetweeners 2? After all, the lion's share of the attention of course goes on our sex-mad quartet of Jay (James Buckley), Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Neil (Blake Harrison).
Well, cast your mind back to 2011's The Inbetweeners Movie, and you'll no doubt remember that the ladies who our horny heroes ultimately shacked up with gave as good as they got. Sadly, none of them are in this year's eagerly awaited follow-up – in their place is rising British actress Emily Berrington (recently seen in 24: Live Another Day). And as Emily explains to the Irish Independent, her character Katie is no wallflower.
"She's gone to Australia to have the experience of a lifetime," she explains. "So every friendship she makes, it's like, 'We're going to be best friends forever!... "When I read it, I thought, 'Oh my God, I met this girl on my gap year.' Maybe I was this girl."
So what was it like joining the blokey ensemble? "They take things quite far in terms of p**s-taking and tricks they play on each other," she recalls. "Sometimes, I'd think, 'My God, surely they've taken it too far this time.' There were no limits."
And with the recent news that Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is reportedly planning an all-female version of Ghostbusters, what does Emily make of the idea of a gender tweak to the Inbetweeners formula?
"Little girls as children, I think, are expected to behave better," she says. "I wonder if the same could potentially apply if it was a female Inbetweeners series, that people could think maybe they should know better or maybe they were being slutty?"
