“I jumped! I never jump!” – Hokum preview screening shocks horror fans at Secret Screaming

If you like horror movies that make you jump out of your seat – and ones that mine classic creepy folklore for chills – Hokum delivers on both counts.

Our lead, played by Adam Scott, is staying at a remote hotel in Ireland and, for the duration of this film, so are we. He’s journeyed to the Emerald Isle to scatter his parents’ ashes, only to be confronted with unsettling folklore, a room said to be haunted by an ancient witch, and deeply creepy old-house creaks.

Entry into the haunted room is strictly forbidden. But our man feels drawn to it nonetheless, and when he finds out it’s under investigation he lets his curiosity get the better of him…

Out on 1st May, this classic horror story with Adam Scott as the lead went down well with Cineworlders, who got a preview at Secret Screaming – and by all accounts, it got properly under their skin.
