Smarting over the delay to Wonder Woman 1984? We were about to celebrate Gal Gadot's return as the DC comic book icon, but circumstances being what they are, we now have to wait until December.
Nevertheless, here's something to cheer everyone up in these dark times. It's a video in which Gadot has been deep faked over original TV series star Lynda Carter, making us wonder what might have been. Carter made an appearance during the Wonder Woman 1984 panel during the DC FanDome event in August, and was cited as an inspiration on Gadot and director Patty Jenkins. Check out the video below.
As its title suggests, the Wonder Woman sequel picks up in the decade of MTV and leg warmers. Gadot's virtuous Diana Prince must battle sinister entrepreneur Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) who is able to make people's dreams come true – at a price. This entails the return of Diana's late lamented love interest Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), and a full-blown villainous transformation for jealous archaeologist Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig).
Directed as before by Gal Gadot, and scored by Hans Zimmer, Wonder Woman 1984 is currently scheduled for Christmas Day 2020. Let us know @Cineworld if you think it'll top the first movie.
