We're past the halfway point of the year, so how many movies have you watched at Cineworld during the last few months? As we enter August, we've got a host of unmissable family movies, horrors and blockbusters headed your way.

1. Harold and the Purple Crayon (released August 2nd)
Inside his book, adventurous Harold (Zachary Levi) can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life—and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own.

2. Trap (released August 9th)
M. Night Shyamalan, director of The Sixth Sense and master of the twist ending, now delivers a mash-up of a serial killer thriller and a concert movie. Oppenheimer's Josh Hartnett continues his career resurgence as the family-loving psychopath who finds himself at the centre of a police sting operation when taking his daughter to a music gig.
3. Borderlands (released August 9th)
Gore-loving horror filmmaker Eli Roth (Cabin Fever; Hostel; Thanksgiving) goes mainstream with this big-budget sci-fi adventure adapted from the bestselling console game series. Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett leads the all-star cast as intergalactic renegade Lilith who leads a merry band of outlaws on a dangerous mission on the far-flung planet of Pandora.

5. It Ends With Us (released August 9th)
Mrs. Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, plays the self-assured Lily Bloom who meets and falls for neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni). However, she soon becomes caught in a love triangle between Ryle and her high school love interest, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar).
6. Babes (released August 9th; Unlimited screening August 5th)
Acclaimed comedian Iliana Glazer stars as Eden (Ilana Glazer) who is best friends with Dawn (Michelle Buteau). Having grown up together in New York City, the two women find themselves at different stages of their lives. When carefree and single Eden decides to have a baby on her own after a one-night stand, their friendship faces its greatest challenge.
7. Alien: Romulus (released August 16th)
The terrifying Alien saga dates back to Ridley Scott's Alien, which was released in 1979. The latest entry in the franchise, Alien: Romulus, takes place 20 years after the events of Scott's seminal sci-fi horror, and some 37 years before the events of James Cameron's equally pioneering Aliens (released in 1986). When a deep-space salvage crew docks with an apparently vacant space station, they soon come across the xenomorph, a horrifying biological organism that threatens the future of mankind.
8. The Crow (released August 23rd)
In this remake of the cult 1994 comic book movie adaptation, IT star Bill Skarsgard (soon to be seen as Count Orlok in Robert Eggers' remake of Nosferatu) plays the titular undead superhero. The Crow begins life as Eric Draven, a musician who along with his girlfriend is killed by malicious gangsters. He then rises from the grave to take bloody revenge.
9. Blink Twice (released August 23rd)
Channing Tatum engages his menacing side in this suspenseful thriller from actor-turned-debut-director Zoe Kravitz. Tatum plays a tech mogul who invites a cocktail waitress (Naomie Ackie) to a party on his private island where she rapidly discovers nothing is as it seems.
10. Pulp Fiction 30th anniversary re-release (24th and 27th of August)
Do you know what's even tastier than a Royale with Cheese? The chance to watch Quentin Tarantino's era-defining black comedy on the big screen where it belongs.
This kaleidoscopic collage of quotable dialogue, outrageous violence and memorable miscreant characters resurrected John Travolta's career and made a star of Samuel L. Jackson. It also earmarked Tarantino as a post-modern pop culture auteur, eventually winning him and Roger Avery the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
11. Star Wars Sundays (begins August 25th with Episode I: The Phantom Menace)
Celebrate the enduring legacy of the Star Wars franchise on the big screen at Cineworld.
Star Wars Sundays are set to range throughout August, September and October, beginning with George Lucas' record-shattering prequel The Phantom Menace. Originally released in 1999, it recounts the origin story of innocent young boy Anakin Skywalker, later to become the dreaded Darth Vader.
