August has got everything. Family movies for the summer holidays, the latest horror releases for a real fright, and even a rom-com for date night. There are plenty of girls night treats with Spa Weekend and One Night Only, with kids hits like Paw Patrol and The Pout-Pout Fish sure to be a winner with all ages.

Super Trooper 3 (7th August)
Looking for a time full of hilarity? The third Super Troopers film is here, a sequel to the 2018 film aptly named Super Troopers 2. Chaos ensues during Farva’s larger than life Indian engagement party to Thorny’s sister. The Super Troopers must work together to tackle Thorny’s plans to try and ruin the relationship. On top of that, there’s a new drug ring they need to crack down.
Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie (7th August)
It’s the Jurassic Park crossover you never knew you needed. Well, not really. But the whole gang of Paw Patrol pups get caught up in a storm and end up on a tropical island inhabited with dinosaurs. Luckily, they’re the friendly kind, befriending a baby T-Rex who’s also been left stranded on the island.
The Summer Book (7th August)
Starring Glen close and Emily Matthews, this book to screen adaptation of the book of the same name by Tove Jansson charts a summer Sophia (Matthews) spends with her father (Anders Danielsen Lie) and her grandmother (Close) off the Gulf of Finland. During this summer, Sophia faces the grief of losing her mother.
Ice Cream Man (7th August)
Horror is coming for everything you love. It’s a sweltering summer’s day in a quiet, wholesome suburban town. The first twinkling notes of the ice cream van are heard. After you watch Ice Cream Man, though, you may want to run in the other direction. Because when the children sample the ice cream man’s sweet treats, they turn into homicidal maniacs.
Tony (14th August)
This latest biopic portrays 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain, the celebrity chef that had hoped to one day become a writer. In 1976, though, he takes a summer job at a restaurant in Cape Cod and, as they say, the rest is history. Dominic Sessa stars as the late Anthony Bourdain, with Emilia Jones playing Nancy, his love interest.
The Pout-Pout Fish (14th August)
August is jam packed full of upcoming family films to keep you entertained during the school summer holidays. Based on the children’s book by Deborah Diesen, shipwreck dwelling Mr. Fish enters a catastrophic argument with a pilfering sea dragon called Pip, leading to their homes being destroyed. The unlikely enemies to friends end up setting out on a quest across the deep ocean to try and find a mysterious wish-granting creature.
The End of Oak Street (14th August)
What would you do if the whole of your street was ripped up and transported to another place entirely – one with ginormous reptiles roaming? This is what happens to the Platt family made up of Denise (Anne Hathaway), Greg (Ewan McGregor), Audrey (Maisy Stella), and Brian (Christian Convery).
Sunny Dancer (14th August)
Bella Ramsey stars in this delightful British comedy about 17-year-old Ivy. Diagnosed with cancer, her misguided parents send her off to “chemo camp” where things turning miraculously brighter when she falls in with a crowd of misfits that help her create an unforgettable summer.
Spa Weekend (21st August)
The girls are all here! Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, Anna Faris, and Michelle Buteau star as the ultimate girl gang in this fun comedy. The thing is, it was only meant to be the three of them (Jane, Sophie, and Coco). But then their trainwreck of a friend (Idsa Fisher as Mel) joins and the blissful weekend descends into chaos.
Mutiny (21st August)
Need a slice of the action? Cole Reed (former special forces and Met police officier) is framed for the murder of his industrialist billionaire boss. Going on the run, Cole must unearth the international conspiracy working against him.
Coyote vs ACME (21st August)
If you liked Space Jam, you’ll like this. Bringing familiar Looney Tunes characters into the real world, Coyote hires lawyer Kevin Avery to help him sue ACME Corporation after their products fail to help him in his pursuit of the Road Runner. And Kevin has a vendetta to settle himself, when he discovers his former law firm’s intimidating boss is, in fact, the CEO of ACME.
Teenage Sex and Death Camp Miasma (21st August)
Horror just got meta. Kris, a queer filmmaker, is hired to direct a slasher franchise, Camp Miasma, and becomes obsessed with the idea of casting the actress who played the final girl in the original. As they work together, a psychosexual fever dream ensues. Starring Hannah Einbinder as Kris and Gillian Anderson as Billy.
Insidious: Out of the Further (21st August)
The franchise continues as a single mother discovers she has the ability to enter the Further. When the demonic entities discover this, they utilise her power to enter into her realm. Starring Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Lin Shaye, and more.
One Night Only (28th August)
Lover boy Callum Turner has another romantic film on the way, releasing not long after his own nuptials to Dua Lipa, as well as last year’s Eternity with Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller. In One Night Only, the premise is our characters Allie (Monica Barbaro) and Owen (Turner) live in a world where there is just one day a year where pre-martial sex is legal. Bartender Owen meets Allie, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The Dog Stars (28th August)
Set after much of the population is wiped out by a flu virus, a pilot (Jacob Elordi) and his ex-Marine neighbour exist from day-to-day, fighting against hostile threats from other survivors. Then a message comes through Hig’s plane radio and they set off, guided by hope.
