My favourite things people are saying on the internet about the Avengers: Doomsday trailer

It finally happened. The Avengers: Doomsday trailer finally dropped, and it wasn’t the crumbs of a teaser, or an eyebrow raising poster. We have a bonafide, full length Avengers: Doomsday trailer, giving a slice of its sprawling cast of superheroes across the multiverse, and our first proper look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

And the internet has not let me down. The reactions online have been suitably hilarious, unhinged, and astute in equal measure, and these are the kinds of Avengers: Doomsday trailer reactions that I am living for. Watch the new trailer below and read on for some great hottakes.

“The first hour is going to be everyone doing ice breakers”

With every Avengers movie, the concept has always been a whole gaggle of superheroes coming together to fight against a common purpose, but has it ever been quite this diverse? Everyone is here from the Fantastic Four to the New Avengers to Wakandans to the X-Men, all brought together by OG Avenger Thor.

That’s a whole lotta paths crossing, and there are so many moments where we see these universes collide in the trailer. Thor addresses a room with the New Avengers, Ant Man, Captain America, and the Fantastic Four.

There’s also a shared handshake between The Thing and M’Baku, and later, we see Shang-Chi fight Gambit.

Like ‘em or loathe ‘em, an ice breaker exercise or two might be necessary.

“Can’t believe Thor used Mjolnir to two factor authenticate Steve Rogers”

Turns out superheroes are just like us and also have to go through the monotonous process of 2FA.

When a bearded, black T-shirt wearing Steve Rogers steps onto the scene with the most nonchalant yet endearingly familiar “Hey, pal,” Thor responds with, “Impossible.” He then holds out his hammer, the Mjolnir, to see if it responds to Steve Rogers – and it does. Probably faster than us scrambling to open the Authenticator app on our phones, to be honest.

“You know this movie is going to be good when Loki looks extra depressed”

To be honest, I don’t think anyone can blame Loki for looking a little stressed and morose in the trailer of Avengers: Doomsday. Like, he does have the weight of holding together all the timelines on his shoulders. That’s more high pressure than most of our silly little desk jobs.

“You know you're cooked when the strongest one is asking for strength.”

Silly goofball Thor is stepping up to the plate as leader and Marvel fans are here for it. Chris Hemsworth has got a serious broody face on, and his foreboding drawl throughout the trailer builds a sense of dread against the forces he and his peers are set to face.

In fact, we get to see the level of power possessed by Doctor Doom – as well as our first proper look at RDJ’s new role – in the trailer as Doctor Doom appears to completely annihilate Mjolnir’s power.

Of course, we also had to find out your thoughts over on X, and one thing is for sure: we all can't wait for DunesDay, where, if you know what's good for you, you'll be holing up at Cineworld to watch Dune: Part Three and Avengers: Doomsday on 17th December, when these two blockbusters will be released.
