“Pillion is devastating” – Cineworlders have weighed in on the latest Secret Screening

Another week, another Secret Screening at Cineworld – and it’s a real 180 from The Running Man as we revved our engines with the intense, charged Pillion. Starring Harry Melling (Harry Potter) and Alex Skarsgård (Zoolander), Pillion follows a wallflower, Colin, who leads a monotonous life. That is, until he meets mysterious biker Ray.

A new world of desire and devotion, Colin enters into a submissive relationship with Ray, meeting the quirky, queer biker community, and maybe beginning to get closer to who he actually is and what he wants – and whether or not that’s swapping one set of rules for another.

Releasing next week on the 28th November, Pillion proves surprisingly tender with fearless performances from its leading men. And last night, attendees of Cineworld’s latest Secret Screening got an advanced showing of this rule-breaking movie. Read on for what they thought!

Fair warning, if you don’t like your films a little bit spicy, Pillion might be too much for you. But we hope you give it a go, because Pillion is definitely pushing boundaries.

And when we say spicy, we mean Alex Skarsgård in tiny glasses. Jonathan Bailey walked so Alex could run, etc etc.

Edward has a point, to be honest.

In all seriousness, though, Pillion isn’t just quite sexy at times, it’s also a very earnest and tender tale of better understanding ourselves while being vulnerable with someone we have feelings for.

As Peter puts it, this is a surprisingly sweet film.

And other attendees agree, with Kris crowning it their favourite film of the year.

Here at Cineworld we certainly want to showcase the breadth of storytelling the film industry has to offer. And Jack totally gets it!

Over on Letterboxd, Frankie has a trigger warning for you all...

While Rhys was left emotionally ruined by Pillions.

Harv is back to tell us how beautiful this film was, even if he wasn't a fan of the whole thing. You can't win 'em all.

And anyway, Becca loved the ending.
