An animation that started out on YouTube, whose creative home is firmly online, has literally exploded in popularity. The pilot episode alone reaches 400 million views and counting. Sounds too good to be true, right? But that’s exactly what happened with The Amazing Digital Circus. It was created by American YouTuber and animator, Gooseworx, and produced by Glitch Productions.
And now the Last Act is coming.
There are some fans who want to watch the finale alone in their bedrooms, and there are some who want a whole communal moment. It’s the latter that has driven demand, which is why The Amazing Digital Circus has mushroomed onto our TV screens and into our cinemas.
Previously only available to view on small screen, the demand for The Amazing Digital Circus to be screened in cinemas is driven by fans. This is a limited screening, a chance to see the final ever episode of the creator-driven viral hit on the big screen AND earlier than a home viewing, with tickets going on sale at 9am on 29th April!

What is The Amazing Digital Circus?
As the series title suggests, this is a zany, circus-like virtual world from which six humans can’t escape. Pomni, Jax, Ragatha, Gangle, Kinger and Zooble face down a crazy AI ringmaster, plus they each bring their own personal trauma to the game. It’s funny, dark and strange, and phenomenally popular.
The animation is a very particular style
We should probably talk about how The Amazing Digital Circus looks. Newcomers to the viral sensation might think it’s from another era because of its distinctive animation style, which intentionally mimics early 1990s CGI. The look and feel were part of Gooseworx’s original pitch for the show. The animation is deliberately lo-fi, providing creative freedom while echoing the creepy story world and the theme of being trapped in an old, still-running computer game.
What do we know about the show’s creator, Gooseworx?
We don’t know much about Gooseworx, except that she prefers to keep a low profile. She loves to play off the cute with the miserable, and the happy with the horrifying – not exactly opposites but diagonally opposite. She’s known for her work as a musician as well as an animator.
When do tickets for The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act go on sale?
Tickets go on sale on 29th April at 9am. Save the date – this one won’t hang around.

What are the fans saying?
The fans are both tickled and frightened, and sometimes experiencE both emotions at the same time, by The Amazing Digital Circus. And there’s a general sense of foreboding about the ending – will it leave fans feeling happy or sad?? One thing’s for sure – this is the end. Episode 9 is the series finale, Gooseworx has confirmed.
