Cineworld invites you to a land of fairytales as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Shrek in style. Because we appreciate ogres (like onions) have layers, we’re bringing you a multisensory experience of this Dreamworks classic. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to experience Shrek in 4DX – exclusive to Cineworld in the UK.
Arriving at Cineworld from 15th May for a limited time, book your tickets to watch Shrek on the big screen for its 25th Anniversary, and be one of the first to see it in 4DX.

Short of feeling the heat of a fire breathing dragon, you can join Shrek and Donkey on their quest to save Princess Fiona from the tower she’s trapped in. And when we say join, we mean it’ll feel like you’re right there with them while sitting in your moving 4DX seats? Every jump, jolt, and rumble on the screen will be mirrored in the motion of your seats.

Let’s face it, the swamp probably doesn’t smell the best. It is a swamp after all. Targeting all the senses, though, you can expect to definitely smell something when watching Shrek in 4DX for its 25th Anniversary. We’re just hoping Donkey is sticking to his promise of making waffles in the morning… Expect atmospheric – hopefully mouthwatering – scents to waft into your screening.

Perhaps the defining plot twist of a generation? Spoiler alert, but the stunning princess is actually cursed and turns into an ogress at night. And let’s just say right at the climax of this screen (arguably characterising it as a romcom for that ending alone, iykyk) it’s going to get real bright and there’s going to be lots of ethereal wind. And you’ll be right there with her, with 4DX throwing in water and wind effects to really bring the movie to life – and into the cinema with you.
