Cineworld is asking you to choose your favourite film from the last 25 years to celebrate a special Unlimited Film Season

Big news! Cineworld Unlimited turns a quarter of a century old this July – and we want you to be involved in celebrating. As we look back at 25 years of endless film screenings of some of the most exciting titles in cinema, you can help us decide what movies to feature in our next extra special film season.

The next film season will include titles that have been released since Unlimited membership was launched. That’s anything from 2000-2025! To help us whittle down the list, all you need to do is head over to our X page and reply to our post with the movies you’d love to be considered in the line-up. You can also comment on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.

Cineworld-goers have already delivered some pretty excellent choices – and it’s giving serious range! From La La Land to Lord of the Rings, the Lizzie McGuire Movie and Disney Animated Classics, there's also a need for the return of action blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick and critic favourites like Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Here are some of the choices so far to give you some inspiration before you submit your choices.

The Lizzie McGuire Movie and other Disney Channel hits

Is this what dreams are made of? The millenials are chiming in and we've got everything from The Lizzie McGurie Movie from 2003 to Hannah Montana: The Movie, which came out in 2009. To top it off, there have also been suggestions of High School Musical 3: Senior Year making a cinema comeback, and we've gotta say Cineworld followers have really got their head in the game for this assignment. Sing to me, Paolo!

Anyone for a Middle Earth marathon?

There really is no other way to watch Peter Jackson's epic trilogy than one after the other. While that does fill up our Unlimited turns 25 special film season pretty quickly, no one can deny that seeing every last Legolas stunt on the bring screen is a good idea. That, and Aragon bursting through the doors of Helm's Deep pretty much rewrote our brain chemistry back in 2002 when Two Towers was released.

Critically-acclaimed titles could make an appearance

From the mistakenly announced Best Picture La La Land in 2017 to 2023's actual Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All At Once, the people of X have spoken and they want some Oscar-worthy films in the 25 years of Unlimited film season. And we can't blame them – haven't stopped thinking about dancing with Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling on that pier under the purple starry sky since.

Turns out Cineworld Unlimited is older than Facebook...

Not to make us feel old or anything, but Unlimited has been around longer than Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook, which in turn means The Social Network is eligible for the film season capturing the best films of the last 25 years! Good news! Released in 2010, a few X users are keen to see The Social Network, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake, return to the big screen.

The bigger the budget, the better

There's nothing like seeing an action-packed, blockbuster movie on the big screen. These X users have read the brief and that is what they want. Top Gun: Maverick, Mad Max Fury Road, and, of course, The Hunger Games.

And some people just want more Marvel. We get it, we saw Endgame, too.

And this Barbie just wants, well, Barbie

It's wild that Barbenheimer was only a couple of years ago. Still any film can be suggested as part of the 25 years of Unlimited film season, no matter how recent. And there really was something special about the summer people came out in their pink get-up for a Barbie screening.

Agree with any of the picks so far? If not, you'd better throw your hat into the ring and let us know what you'd like to see at the film season celebrating 25 years of Unlimited. You can respond to any of our posts across X, Facebook, Instagram, or Threads.

And stay tuned. As we get closer to Cineworld Unlimited's 25th birthday in July, we'll be announcing plenty of other promotions and competitions to get involved with to help us celebrate.
