A time to celebrate the father figures in your life – and no, we don’t mean in the Nicole Kidman Babygirl kind of way – what better way to spend Father’s Day than heading down to the cinema to see a movie with your old man?
From action-filled blockbusters to revived family favourites, this current line-up of films are perfect for Father’s Day – and Cineworld gifting has some great options, including the How to Train Your Dragon 4DX gift experience for two. Equally, if he’s a fan of André Rieu, there’s a great gift package including snacks and drinks. Or gift him a whole lot of cinema with a Cineworld membership.
If you just fancy a trip down the cinema together, though, check out Cineworld’s Family Ticket option and head down to your local to catch a screening of one of these five great films for Father’s Day.
Karate Kid: Legends
A father figure can look different to everyone – it doesn't always have to be the traditional parametres of what makes a dad, and the Karate Kid franchise definitely presents a lot of different father figures across the series. A guiding hand through life, particularly the tough spots, Ralph Macchio's Daniel Russo and Jackie Chan's Mr. Han both mentor and look after newcomer to the series Li Fong (Ben Wang) in Karate Kid: Legends as the kung fu prodigy attempts to acclimatise to his new life in New York and handling unwanted attention.
A story and franchise that has spanned decades, this one is for all ages and a great choice for Father's Day. And, if you need a refresher, we've got you covered with 5 things to know ahead of seeing Karate Kid: Legends.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
The final chapter – if Tom Cruise can really bring himself to let the franchise go – go on one last epic jaunt with Ethan Hunt. Should your dad choose to accept, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning consists of some of the most jaw-dropping stunts yet, as well as bringing to a close the storyline of the previous instalment, Dead Reckoning Part One.
Take a look back at the best stunts from the Mission: Impossible movies and make sure you book your screening in a special format – we recommend IMAX or 4DX!

Lilo & Stitch
Got younger ones in the family? Or just want to take a road down memory lane and relive this 2002 animated classic in its new live action reboot? Either way, we don't blame you. Lilo & Stitch has been hugely popular already – and it's all to do with that adorable, mischevious blue alien.
Don't listen to the naysayers, Disney's live action movies have still got it – the producer and director of the movie even took the time to tell us how the Lilo & Stitch live action came to be.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina
Want something a bit more gritty? The John Wick spin-off Ballerina has landed in cinemas ahead of Father's Day and it's giving a fresh take to the formula with the arrival of Ana de Armas as a butt-kicking, professionally trained ballerina out for blood.
And, don't worry, Keanu Reeves does make an appearance in the movie, with a lengendary fight scene between himself and de Armas to boot. So you'll definitely get your John Wick fill.
How to Train Your Dragon
What better father-kid duo than Hiccup and Chief Stoick the Vast is there as the pair butt heads in a war between dragons and vikings. Dreamworks are following in Disney's footsteps in reimagining one of its successful animations and producing a live action version, with Mason Thames cast as Hiccup and Gerard Butler lending more than just his voice to Stoick the Vast.
This is going to be a fun one, and, as mentioned, Cineworld is offering a super fun 4DX gift experience for two for How to Train Your Dragon, which includes two ponchos to protect you from any potential splashes during the movie. It's a great last minute
