Death, it turns out, isn’t so final. Off the back of the success of Final Destination Bloodlines – the highest-grossing movie in the horror franchise – it’s now been announced that a seventh film is in the works.
Released back in May, Final Destination Bloodlines outshone its predecessors, more than doubling 2009’s The Final Destination as the biggest performer in the horror series at the box office. The 14 year wait was certainly worth it for New Line, and they’re hoping lightning will strike twice with the announcement of a seventh film – and Bloodlines co-writer Lori Evans Taylor will be returning to write it.
What do we know about Final Destination 7 so far?
When can we expect Final Destination 7 to be released?
It’s very early days so a release date is not yet known for the upcoming horror release. We would expect no earlier than 2027, though, giving time for Taylor to work her sadistic screenplay magic and for filming to take place.
What will the storyline of Final Destination 7 be?
We have no premonitions on where the story will take us though it has been pegged as a sequel to Bloodlines, which, as fans will know, functioned as a prequel of sorts to the rest of the franchise. All we can feel pretty certain of is its likely to give some of the best Final Destination scenes a run for their money.
Who is in the cast of Final Destination 7?
It is not yet known who will star in Final Destination 7. As stated, the film has only just been confirmed with a script yet to be penned. We will update this page as and when more information is shared on the upcoming horror movie.
It’s unlikely we’ll see the late Tony Todd’s William Bludworth character in Final Destination 7. The iconic character has featured in all but one of the Final Destination movies so far, with Bloodlines being his final posthumous release.
Given news that Paul Walker could appear in the final Fast and Furious over a decade after his passing though, utilising developments in CGI and AI, it isn’t completely beyond the realm of possibility. Indeed, Tony Todd could rise once again as a player in Death’s prerogative for settling the score.
