Need a reason to go and see Final Destination Bloodlines? The horror franchise is about to breaks its own box office record

Final Destination is now screening at Cineworld, and if you weren’t sure about seeing it, the rave reviews alone should speak for themselves. That, and the fact it’s about to break its own record after a blockbuster opening weekend.

Released on May 14th, globally Final Destination Bloodlines has made $102 million. It’s already surpassed Final Destination 2’s overall box office takings of $90.9 million in less than a week, and it’s well on its way to trumping the previous record holder in its franchise – 2009’s The Final Destination ($186.2 million) – before the end of its theatrical release.

Taking it back to the beginning, Final Destination Bloodlines charts the beginning of Death’s fatal dealings, with college student Stefanie attempting to break the cycle that is set to see her family meet their brutal ends in a cacophony of garden tools, BBQ apparatus, and a pesky stray shard of glass.

Slasher haters, eat your heart out. Clearly all the Final Destination franchise needed was a 14 year fallow period and to be given the Filmed in IMAX treatment in order to prove absolutely deadly at the box office, with the option to watch Final Destination Bloodlines in other special formats, too.

Won’t take our word for it? The Guardian described it as “jubilantly gory” while TheWrap said it was a “glorious gorefest”. And for anyone that had lost hope in the horror movie franchise, Gizmodo says its the best instalment yet.

It’s a box office smash and also your chance to get some last faux words of wisdom from Tony Todd in his posthumous appearance as the iconic William Bludworth. Hop on the horror bandwagon and fill your guts with some truly horrendous, creative deaths.
