The Paddington films are the equivalent of a delicious marmalade sandwich: zesty, nourishing and all-round feel-good experiences. This year's threequel Paddington in Peru takes the eponymous bear back to his roots in South America, and he's taking his hapless surrogate family the Browns along for the ride.
Director Paul King has been swapped out for Dougal Wilson, but we expect the magic to be preserved. Ben Whishaw returns to voice Paddington, while Antonio Banderas and Olivia Colman join the cast.
Who could resist another delightful Paddington adventure on the big screen? Take your Paddington experience to the next level in special format IMAX, plus the Cineworld-exclusive formats 4DX and Superscreen. Here's what you can expect.
IMAX's sheer size plunges you into the heart of Peru
Paddington in Peru promises to be the most action-packed Paddington instalment so far. For the first time, we're taken outside the confines of London and thrown into the Peruvian wilderness where Paddington is visiting his beloved Aunt Lucy (Imelda Staunton).
This is the catalyst for all manner of riotous set pieces involving rapids and hair-raising escapes, while the new faces include Olivia Colman's ukelele-playing nun. The comic canvas is evidently a lot broader than before, and IMAX is the viewing format that's set to do the film justice.
IMAX's remastering process, in combination with dual projection, draws out fine-tuned colours from the Peruvian greenery to Paddington's signature red heart, ensuring all the wholesome cinematic detail resonates with added sharpness and clarity.
The larger screens make the South American landscape seem even bigger, upping the stakes for Paddington and his family. And the perfectly integrated sound and speaker system ensures that the audio is an equally important character in Paddington's ongoing journey, from the rushing of the rapids to the intonations of Dario Marianelli's score.

Multi-sensory 4DX lends physical impact to Paddington's hilarious scrapes
4DX is a unique multi-sensory format exclusive to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland. Moving seats are timed to the on-screen action, which is perfect for a film like Paddington in Peru. It's set to amplify the slapstick comic beats that we've come to know and love from characters falling over to physical collisions with the environment.
However, moving seats is only half of it. 4DX also deploys wind, water, rain and scent effects to infuse greater tangibility into the movie's Peruvian landscape, making you feel as if you're there alongside Paddington as he makes his way through the jungle.

Superscreen amplifies the emotions

From the sweep of the South American continent to the teeming cast of faces and the quintessential balance of humor and emotion, Paddington in Peru was made for Superscreen.
