The latest Stephen King adaptation, The Long Walk, is being released in just a few days on the 12th September, and Unlimited members got an advanced screening.
Based in a dystopian United States in which an annual competition is held where young boys must continuously walk at a pace of at least three miles per hour, the final boy standing wins whatever he wants for the rest of his life, while anyone who slows down, stops, or falls will be shot dead. Many Unlimited members were hugely impressed by Licorice Pizza actor Cooper Hoffman’s performance, as well as his co-star David Jonsson.
That was a damn good film! Cooper Hoffman take a bow 🙇♂️

Amazing honestly. Easily one of my favourite performances this year and as always I loved David and cooper in this

In fact, let’s give it up for the whole cast.
I really enjoyed the movie. The story was ever so intense, the acting was absolutely fantastic from the entire cast, I was kept on the edge of my seat, I jumped out of my skin a few times, you do find yourself supporting Ray and Pete throughout the duration. 9/10! Grade: A! 😁😁

For many Unlimited members, The Long Walk entered into their top films of the year. Given how many movies members must watch in a year with their subscription, that’s a pretty big statement. Consider this your endorsement to go and see The Long Walk.
I have finally found my first 10/10 of the year

Bookworms, Francis Lawrence’s The Long Walk has got fellow readers’ seal of approval as an adaptation that is both faithful to the novel while making artistic choices that feel fresh and true to the story.
#thelongwalk is a compelling and heartbreaking adaptation of the novel.

Although it deviates from the book at times, the emotion and darkness are on display.
Not always pleasant and harrowing, the film is a good dystopian drama that hits home hard.
Recommended viewing.
Having read the book , the subtle changes to the film made this even better , 9/10 and probably the best film I have seen this year , and go as far to say my fav Stephen king film adaptation

And it’s even encouraged one Unlimited member to pick up the book – you don’t always have to read it before you watch the movie!
Absolutely great film, would easy 9/10 totally worth a watch.

Parts certainly had me thinking and trying to work out what might happen next that certainly sells a film for me, but the film at the end truly delivered.
I think this has certainly pushed me to read the novel.
If you thought Stephen King’s The Life of Chuck made you cry, The Long Walk is about to have you balling your eyes out.
It was absolutely brilliant, filled with so much suspense and yet never lost sight of hope. Never thought a dystopian thriller would get me close to tears but here we are

absolutely incredible, cried my eyes out twice, can’t wait to see it again soon <3

Stephen, expect to hear from Sammy’s therapist.
When I find Stephen King…. I’m going to be having serious words with him 😂😭

What a gut wrenching, yet incredible movie 💔
Sometimes a film doesn’t need to be everything all at once; you don’t need to throw everything and the kitchen sink at a movie and blow the entire budget to make it great. Sometimes keeping it simple, but doing it perfectly is enough. Which is pretty much Jermy’s sentiments.
Considering that the whole premise of the film is extremely simple it Is soooo good

Sometimes it’s even in the attention to detail, and we certainly love this fact from Marc about The Long Walk runtime.
Very good film and fantastic performances from Cooper Hoffman and David Johnson.
— Marc Gunn (@MarcGunn) September 8, 2025
I liked fact that runtime equates to just over 3 miles per minute.
And the way the film feels like a continuous shot, like we’re walking with the young men as they take part in the contest.
oh yeah OH YEAH, brilliant, such an insane film to successfully pull off and on a technical level so impressive because that camera does NOT stop https://t.co/kQtjYqaI5x
