A classic case of reality not quite living up to those rose-tinted memories, Nicolas Cage’s latest film is arriving at Cineworld from 9th May, where he plays titular character The Surfer, and finds himself in a spot of bother with the ragtag locals. Directed by Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium), Cage intends to cut through the same waves he did as a kid with his own son, but a gang led by Scally (Julian McMahon) rage a war of intimidation on any outsiders looking to infiltrate the beach.
A psychological thriller that promises you’ll be sweating in your seat, Cineworld Unlimited members got the chance to be some of the first to be terrorised right alongside Cage. And they’ve shared all their thoughts on The Surfer. Keep reading as we round up their thoughts from X.

One X user was chasing that surfer’s high just like Nicolas Cage himself.
Just left the screening, and all I can say is that it was a WILD&INTENSE rollacoaster ride! Nicholas Cage's performance was top tier, and so was all the other main cast. My face reaction was SHOCK&AWE moments my brain was on that wild ride! Nicholas Cage was the surfer!💯 🏄♂️ 🤙🏾

Another Cineworld Unlimited member strongly agreed on the wild ride The Surfer promises viewers.
Throughly enjoyed this very surreal Nic Cage film

Sometimes, it’s the little things that spark joy.
It was nice to see close ups of animals and insects and flies crawling over actors

While others were irreversibly changed. (Please note: no Unlimited members were harmed during their special screening).
It melted my brain!
