After more than a decade in the cinematic afterlife, the Final Destination franchise is back – and it's sharper, scarier and bloodier than ever. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the latest instalment in the horror series, Final Destination Bloodlines, arrives at Cineworld on May 21st, and based on what we’ve seen and heard, you can expect plenty of jaw-dropping set pieces and bone-rattling suspense.
We’ll be showing the new movie in standard 2D, of course, but you might want to experience this hotly anticipated release in one of our immersive premium formats, IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen – after all, this is the kind of high-octane horror that begs for the full sensory overload. To find out how each format will elevate your enjoyment and have you cowering behind your popcorn, read on…
IMAX – A bigger, bolder horror experience
Final Destination Bloodlines was filmed for IMAX, and it’s fair to say that the movie looks and sounds absolutely incredible when viewed in this format. Thanks to IMAX’s massive screen, ultra-high resolution and remastered sound design, you’ll be fully immersed in every tension-building cut, with each creak, crunch and scream resonating with pin-sharp clarity. Intense and visceral, Bloodlines in IMAX is a must for horror fans wishing to take their viewing experience to the next level.
4DX: Feel the fear – literally
If watching people get taken out by invisible forces isn’t intense enough for you, 4DX ups the ante by dragging your body into the chaos. With seat movement, blasts of air, strobe lighting, fog and even authentic smells, you’re guaranteed a full-on thrill ride. A quick look at the Final Destination Bloodlines trailer reveals that there’s plenty of gruesome action sequences in the film, including broken trampolines, crumbling towers and rotating door calamities. And with 4DX, you’ll be right there amongst it – the only difference being that you’ll be perfectly safe!
ScreenX: A 270-degree panorama of panic
If you like to be surrounded by fear, then ScreenX is the format for you. Featuring a 270-viewing experience that extends the picture onto the side walls of the cinema, it’ll completely envelop you in the angst-filled action on screen. Half the fun with Final Destination films is scanning the scene for warning signs, and as the tension ramps up, you’ll find yourself glancing left and right, unsure where the next fatal twist will strike from.
Superscreen: Horror in high definition
“Making movies feel like masterpieces”, Superscreen combines crystal-clear 4K projection, an enormous wall-to-wall screen and Dolby Atmos audio to deliver a premium cinema experience that’ll take your breath away. And watching Bloodlines’ high-tension setpieces in this format is an absolute treat, with the enhanced detail and thunderous sound ramping up those suspense levels to the max. And when death finally strikes? It hits like a sledgehammer.
