You may have noticed a few more furred upper lips around lately. And yes, moustaches are mad trendy right now, but at this time of year it's so much more than just a style choice. Growing one is also a great way to raise funds and awareness around men's health for Movember. What do you say – will you (or someone in your life with cooperative facial follicles) be growing out some philtrum fuzz to show support? If you're in need of inspiration, there are few better places to look than some of the stars of the big screen, so check out our top 10 'tashes to influence your very own crumb-catcher. In no particular order...
1. Glen Powell, The Running Man
Hitting Cineworld screens on 12th November, the remake of The Running Man couldn't be better timed for a smattering of Movember inspiration. Glen Powell plays Ben Richards, a man persuaded to enter a deadly TV show where contestants must survive 30 days to win a huge cash reward – a sum of money that could save his sick daughter's life. The catch? His every move is broadcast to thousands upon thousands of bloodthirsty viewers and you're being hunted by professional assassins. What better time to whack on a fake 'tashe to elude your attackers?

2. Andrew Garfield, After The Hunt
Feel like your upper-lip warmer could do with some moral support? Why not go for the full face-fuzz option like our friend Andrew Garfield in After The Hunt? Garfield plays Hank, long-term colleague and friend to Julia Roberts' Alma, who becomes the subject of a life-altering allegation from star student Maggie (Aya Edebiri). This places Alma in a seemingly impossible personal and professional position, and threatens to resurface long-buried secrets. With the award for Best Supporting Beard going to Alma's partner Frederik (Michael Stuhlbarg), you could do a lot worse than looking to After The Hunt for inspo.
3. Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another
Is there anything Leo can't do? Powerful dialogue... Scene-splitting tension... Trend-setting facial hair... We think not. In One Battle After Another, Leo stars as Bob Ferguson, a down-on-his-luck former revolutionary who is called back to the chaos when his daughter is captured by his nemesis. Nothing says "peak desperation" quite like a horseshoe moustache and Leo is rocking his with aplomb. You even get to witness his face furniture in various stages of growth, which could come in handy when cultivating your own.

4. Pedro Pascal, The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Keeping things neat and petit with a classic 60s-style chevron 'stache, at number four is the internet's boyfriend Pedro Pascal in his role as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic. In this 2025 release, Reed must lead the Fantastic Four in their defence of the Earth against a gargantuan space god determined to devour the planet. These nefarious intentions are heralded by a shiny (and notably facial-hairless) harbinger of doom, the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). As a man of science and practicality who's wedded to the slick styles of the 1960s, Richards has adopted an iconic lip-hugger that won't slow him down as he bends and flexes his way to victory. Will you do the same?
5. Kenneth Branagh, Death On The Nile
Not one for the follicly challenged among us, this list wouldn't be complete without acknowledging the celebrated upper-lip appendage of the world's most famous detective, Hercule Poirot. While TV's David Suchet had the edge on precision waxing back in the 90s, it's Ken's take on the magnificently moustachioed Belgian super-sleuth that's made our top 10. In Death On The Nile, you even get a little taste of the origin story and inspiration behind his style choice. This particular execution – somewhere between a handlebar and a Hungarian moustache – may in fact take many months to perfect, but it's always good to have a goal in life, right?
6. The Stranger, The Big Lebowski
Multi-award-winner Jeff Bridges let it all grow out for his role as The Dude in 1998's The Big Lebowski – the hair, the beard... we were living for it – but it's Sam Elliot's salt-and-pepper 'stache that's holding a slot on our list. Much like Branagh's mouth mutton chop (although genuine, rather than make of yak fur), growing a moustache like this takes serious commitment and time. Elliot has been sporting his for decades, and in doing so has earned it a star status of its own. Worth noting if you aspire to such lofty lip fuzz.
As The Stranger in The Big Lebowski, his chief role is to narrate the on and off-screen action surrounding The Dude, appearing on screen only twice in the entire film.
7. Samuel L Jackson, Pulp Fiction
Nineteen-ninety-four is calling, and it wants you to rock a "Jules Winnfield" for Movember 2025. Not sure what we're talking about? Take a seat, my friend.
Samuel L Jackson brings the all-time bad motherboffer moustache energy in his role as iconic hitman, Jule Winnfield, in Quentin Tarrantino's Pulp Fiction. Starring alongside possibly one of the worst haircuts in the history of cinema (thank you Vincent Vega/John Travolta), the Fu Manchu-style whiskers and long, unconnected sideburns combo came together to craete one of the most distinctive aesthetics of 90s cinema.
8. The Lorax
Who says an animated character can't become a 'tache trailblazer? Not us, that's for sure. If abundant bonce bristles are your thing, Dr Seuss' The Lorax (voiced by Danny DeVito) may be the furry fella for you. Yes, he's little and orange – not to mention made entirely of pixels – but that's not to say that growing fabulously full and fursome facial feature like his (with matchy-matchy bushy brows) is entirely beyond the realms of possibility. You can even dye it blonde if you fancy.
9. Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
An icon in its own right, Freddie Mercury's moustache is one of the most memorable and easily identifiable legacies to come out of the 1980s, one that was resurrected by Rami Malek in 2018's biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Still the first choice for many a fancy-dress outfit – and allegedly grown to conceal his prominant teeth and create a more "macho" vibe – this style of 'stache is already seeing a resurgence and couldn't be more perfect as your Movember muse.
10. Ron Burgundy, Anchorman
Last but by no means least, here's another case for the chevron-style 'stache, but this time with a 70s' steer. Enter Ron Burgundy and his extra-manly philtrum furniture as seen in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, the action takes place in San Diego's Channel 4 newsroom, where Burgundy – who's kind of a big deal – is threatened by the arrival of a female news anchor (Christina Applegate).
Allegedly, Ferrell grew his own moustache for the sequel to emphasise its genuineness. And if he can do it, so can you! It's all for a good cause, after all.
Check out Glen Powell at his moustachioed best in The Running Man, released on 12th November.
