Run, don’t walk – The Running Man reviews are in from our Secret Screening

The 17th Secret Screening brought Edgar Wright’s The Running Man to Cineworlds early with Glen Powell sprinting onto the screen for this action-packed dystopian thriller.

A reboot of the 80s Arnie movie, The Running Man follows a desperate man, Ben Richards, who enters into a reality TV gameshow in order to win a life-changing amount of money that could help his sick daughter. In the show, he must go on the run for 30 days and evade a group of hunters who, if they manage to catch Ben, will kill him.

Arriving at Cineworld on 12th November, Saturday night’s Secret Screening was a hit with attendees. Read on for a marathon of reviews.

The clue is in the name, but The Running Man certainly features a whole lot of cardio, and it left us all feeling quite breathless – and not just because Glen Powell is a good looking chap. Sue was left feeling pretty exhausted by the end of the Secret Screening, but in a good way!

And Sue wasn’t the only one who was so here for the action. Glen Powell might well be the next Tom Cruise!

In fact, move aside Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, a new 2025 action movie hit is taking the podium.

It got its seal of approval from Stephen King fans!

In fact, it’s been a great year for Stephen King adaptations…

And Mike wasn’t the only attendee equally impressed and moved by the scarily relevant themes explored in The Running Man either…

And for original evangelists, Francis reckons Arnie’ll love it, too.

In fact, James can’t wait to see it again when it's released later this week!

Which is a great reminder that you can watch The Running Man in a number of special formats! Kayden is going to see it in 4DX!

Uh, Shaun, we reckon you must be lost. Wicked: For Good is out next week… Ba dum tsh!

And we couldn’t possibly forget about you Letterboxd folk…

Bianca is here to give a shoutout to Glen Powell’s towel – both a blessing and a curse.

Rachel also thought it was a decent reboot from the Arnold Schwarzenegger special.

Harry was also here for the towel, but we can all collectively agree we’re here for more Lee Pace face time.

And Chiara has definitely stolen our elevator pitch for The Running Man, but we’re not mad because we totally agree!
