Fight Scene – Jack Sparrow vs Will Turner
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 2003
Sowrds fly, wheels spin, and Jack's swinging from the rafters like it's all part of the plan. Will? He's grabbing a red-hot rod and turning it into a weapon. Meanwhile, Jack's one-liners land like darts, so this duel isn't just about swordplay; it's a dance of words too.
What makes it so good? The scene brilliantly contrasts Jack's cunning, underhanded tactics with Will's honourable, disciplined style. It's fast, funny and full of surprises – keeping us on our toes from start to finish. We love it because it captures the spark between two opposites, testing each other's skill and wit before joining forces to rescue Elizabeth Swann (played by Keira Knightley).
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl will screen at Cineworld on 14 November.

Elizabeth Swann and the Skeleton Crew
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 2003
Image this: you're travelling alone on a ship… and then you reliase it's crawling with deadly skeletons. That's the moment Elizabeth Swann discovers she's trapped aboard the Black Pearl, surrounded by cursed pirates whose ghastly forms only appear under moonlight. Chills, right?
The ship becomes a stage for horror: skeletal figures swing like trapeze artists, leap from the rigging, and creep out of the shadows. And looming over it all? The menacing Captain Barbossa, adding to the dread.
It's eerie, unsettling, and plunges us straight into the supernatural. The decks creak, lanterns flicker, and moonlight casts bone-white glows across the crew – pulling us into a world where myth and legend come terrifyingly to life. The stakes soar, the story deepens, and Elizabeth must find a way to survive this nightmarish voyage.
A real turning point, this scene takes the film from swashbuckling adventure into full-blown fantasy horror. The Curse of the Black Pearl truly has it all.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl will screen at Cineworld on 14 November.

The Cannibal Island Escape
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006
Perilous, hilarious and packed with tension – this scene is pure Pirates magic. It's got everything: action, comedy and a healthy dose of chaos. Captain Jack Sparrow, mistaken for a god, ends up captured by a tribe of cannibals who plan to cook him alive to 'set his spirit free'. Not ideal.
Meanwhile, his crew is swinging in bone cages between cliffs like human pendulums, desperately trying to escape. It's left to Jack to break free – and his jungle pole-run, tied up and sprinting through total mayhem, is slapstick brilliance at its best. Tight choreography meets Johnny Depp's improvisation, and you've got a sequence that's as funny as it is tense.
This is Pirates at full throttle: inventive, unpredictable and impossible to look away from.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006 will screen at Cineworld on 15 November.

Will and Elizabeth's Wedding Mid-Battle
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 2007
Three films. Countless betrayals. Near-death escapes galore. Through it all, Will and Elizabeth's romance has survived every storm. So, when the proposal finally happens, it's the ultimate payoff – but in true Pirates style, forget candlelight and quiet vows. This is anything but traditional.
Picture it: a full-blown sea battle raging around them. Cannonballs flying, swords clashing, waves crashing – and in the middle of the chaos, Will pops the question.
Elizabeth says yes (of course), and who's officiating? None other than Captain Barbossa, shouting vows mid-duel between sword swings. Iconic.
The backdrop? A swirling maelstrom of water effects, wind machines, staged explosions and high-stakes swordplay. It's wild, romantic and hands down the most action-packed wedding ceremony ever.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 2007 will screen at Cineworld on 16 November.

Jack Escapes the Guillotine
Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge 2017
Is this finally the end for Jack Sparrow? Lady Luck seems to have ditched him as he's strapped into a guillotine – not exactly the glamorous pirate life he signed up for. But in true Pirates fashion, chaos swoops in to save the day. Kaya Scodelario's Carina Smyth steals the spotlight with her own daring escape (accused of witchcraft just for being smart – classic), while Jack's fate hangs by a thread… or rather, a spinning blade.
And that guillotine? Totally real. Johnny Depp spent the day strapped in and spinning like a carnival ride – no CGI shortcuts here. Just when it looks like game over, a cannonball blasts through the scene, triggering a domino effect that sends Jack flying to safety.
It's wild, ridiculous and brilliantly choreographed. Jack survives the impossible once again – and that's why we love him. It's classic Sparrow: teetering on the edge of doom, saved by chaos, and somehow swaggering away like nothing happened.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge will screen at Cineworld on 18 November.

The Mermaids Attack
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 2011
Truly eerie, seductive and hypnotic – this scene pulls us in just like the mermaids themselves, Stephen Graham's Scrum is convinced he's living his destiny when one of these ethereal creatures locks eyes with him. He leans over the edge of the boat, lips puckered, ready for that fairytale kiss… and then, in a heartbeat, the illusion shatters. The mermaid slips beneath the surface and reveals her true, terrifying form.
Suddenly, calm waters explode into chaos. The seas around the pirates' tiny boat come alive with mermaids on the attack, deadly, swift and otherworldly. It's a chilling twist on the classic myth: love as the lure, death as the price.
This sequence is pure atmosphere – fantasy colliding with horror, all wrapped in haunting visuals and nail-biting suspense.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will screen at Cineworld on 17 November.

The Waterwheel Sword Fight
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006
Sword fights in the Pirates universe? They're never just about clashing steel – they're full-blow spectacles. Jeopardy, wit, unexpected twists – and this one might just top them all.
A three-way duel kicks off between Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and James Norrington, all battling for the key to Davy Jones' chest. It starts on white sands and a crumbling bell tower… then goes completely off the rails as the fight hurtles into the jungle atop a runaway waterwheel. The wheel spins, swords flash, and the choreography is equal parts danger and comedy.
And then there's Johnny Depp turning the wheel into his own personal hamster wheel, sprinting inside as it barrels downhill. It's inventive, chaotic and unforgettable – the kind of scene that reminds you why Pirates sword fights are in a league of their own.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 2006 will screen at Cineworld on 15 November.
