If you’re looking for a great movie to watch at Cineworld in March, then you’re spoilt for choice. From romantic comedies to Disney reboots, superhero blockbusters to gangster epics, there’s a wide variety of films to enjoy on our massive, state-of-the-art screens. While all of these are showing in 2D, some can also be enjoyed in our spectacular IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen formats – look under each listing to see your options.
Mickey 17
One of the year’s most hotly anticipated releases, this mind-bending sci-fi comedy comes from the imagination of Bong Joon-ho, the Oscar-winning director of Parasite. It follows the (mis)fortunes of Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson), a down-on-his-luck Earthling who signs up to become an expendable clone worker on a nearby colony planet. Despite being killed in numerous unpleasant ways, Mickey seems fairly content in his new job – until an unexpected glitch threatens to ruin everything.
The Last Showgirl
In a triumphant movie comeback that no one was expecting, Pamela Anderson stars as a veteran dancer who faces an uncertain future following the closure of a Las Vegas revue that she’s performed in for three decades. Directed by Vita Coppola – granddaughter of Francis Ford – and also featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, The Last Showgirl is as deeply emotional as it is stunning.
Disney’s Snow White
A live-action reimagining of the popular Brothers Grimm tale – and a reboot of its own 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Disney’s Snow White is a musical fantasy starring Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) as the titular heroine and Gal Gadot as her nemesis, the Evil Queen. Featuring gorgeous visuals and a bunch of new songs written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (who penned the tunes for 2019’s Aladdin), this magical adventure promises to be a treat for the whole family.
The Alto Knights
A crime drama starring Robert De Niro and written by Nicholas Pileggi – sound familiar? Yes, The Alto Knights shares similarities with Goodfellas, only this time the action focuses on the rivalry between 1950s Mob bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello – both played here by De Niro. Directed by Barry ‘Rain Man’ Levinson (his first film for ten years), this gripping crime epic is an absolute must for fans of the genre.
The Monkey
“Terrifyingly brilliant” and “unforgettably gory” are among the phrases that have been used to describe Osgood Perkins’ comedy horror flick. Adapted from a short story by Stephen King, it centres around a mysterious wind-up monkey whose drumming is the catalyst for a series of horrific incidents. Featuring a largely unknown cast, The Monkey features more than enough jump scares to keep you perched on the edge of your seat.
Captain America: Brave New World
Chris Evans may have vacated the role of Captain America, but this latest instalment in the Marvel franchise is no less spectacular for it. Soon after taking on the famous mantel, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) finds himself caught up in a major incident that puts the world on the brink of war. Directed by Julius Onah (Luce) and also featuring Danny Ramirez, Harrison Ford and Liv Tyler, this all-action blockbuster offers thrills and spills aplenty.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
The fourth and final film in the popular rom-com series sees Renee Zellweger’s hapless heroine living as a widowed mum-of-two following the tragic death of her husband Mark Darcy. However, this being Bridget Jones, it isn’t long before she’s sizing up potential love interests – including a youthful park ranger named Roxster (Leo Woodall). With hilarity by the bucketload, and Hugh Grant also making a return as Daniel Cleaver, there’s lots to like about this climactic caper.
