Mother's Day movies you can watch at Cineworld

Mothering Sunday falls on March 30th, giving us the chance to celebrate the very special mums in our life. And whether it’s the mother of our children, our own mum or mother-in-law, or a dear old gran, what better way to say thank you for all they do than by treating them to a cinema trip. There are some great movies showing at Cineworld on and around Mother’s Day, so why not book some tickets, grab some delicious snacks from the foyer and share some wonderful cinematic moments with the maternal figure in your life. Here are just some of the brilliant films you could go and see…

Disney’s Snow White

What could be more delightful than celebrating Mother’s Day with some musical magic? Disney’s Snow White is an all-new live action reboot of the 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Starring West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler as the titular princess, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, and a whole bunch of songs – both old and new – it’s sure to get mum smiling.

Black Bag

If mum loves a good spy thriller, then you need to book tickets for Steven Soderbergh’s latest release. Starring Michael Fassbender as an intelligence officer tasked with solving the leak of a top-secret software program, and Cate Blanchett as the wife he suspects of doing it, Black Bag is full of suspense and clever plot twists. No wonder it’s being touted as one of the year’s best films.

Flow

Beautiful and thought-provoking, the second animated feature film from Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis is an unexpected treat. Nominated for both BAFTA and Academy Awards, Flow centres around a ragtag group of animals who, faced with the threat of global flooding, must work together to survive. Almost like a Watership Down for the modern age, Flow is one not to be missed.

Novocaine

Cinema Unlimited members raved about Dan Berk and Robert Olsen’s new action thriller when we gave them an advance screening, and we reckon it’ll be a winner with mum, too. Jack Quaid plays a mild-mannered bank executive who, unable to feel pain, sets off on a quest to free his colleague and love interest from a gang of robbers. Gripping, and at times laugh-out-loud funny, Novocaine is sure to provide some Mother’s Day thrills.
